NCFA Statement of Belief.
We believe
¨ that the Bible is the inspired word of God and the
ultimate authority for faith and conduct.
¨ that the Creator God is expressed in the Trinity of
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
¨ that humankind was created perfect but through their disobedience to the Divine command lost this perfection and became corrupt. As a result humankind is born imperfect and needs the renewing work of the Holy Spirit.
¨ that God, in love for humankind, determined that Jesus Christ should take on human nature and die a substitutionary death for the forgiveness of sins.
¨ that a person is made right before God on the basis of God’s undeserved and unearned love through
personal faith in Jesus Christ alone.
¨ that the Lord Jesus was raised bodily from the dead and now sits at the right hand of the Father.
¨ that the Holy Spirit has been sent by the Lord Jesus to apply the benefits of His work to us. It is the Holy Spirit who lives and works in our lives to open them up to God and enable us to live lives that please God.
¨ that history will be fulfilled following the return of the Lord Jesus Christ when the bodily resurrection occurs. At that time, those who are right before God through the sacrifice of Christ and the forgiveness of sins will enter into God’s kingdom and those who have failed to respond positively to the grace of God will enter into eternal hell.
